Supernova Coop was created on July the 19th, 2017. Its statutes were published to the Moniteur belge on July the 31st, 2017. These articles were updated on 3 May 2023 to bring them into line with the new Code of Companies and Associations. They were published in the Moniteur belge on 5 May 2023. The Ministerial Decree of 29 June 2023 authorising the cooperative Supernova Coop for an indefinite period was published in the Moniteur belge on July the 31st 2023.
Supernova Coop is approved by the SPF Économie as a social enterprise and as a cooperative society. Supernova Coop has also been awarded the Finance solidaire label by the ASBL Financité. This label certifies the financing of activities that generate social and/or environmental benefits, and guarantees that investors will receive transparent and comprehensive information about the financial product.

Following the campaign, a General Meeting inviting all new Supernova members was held on 26 June 2024, attended by 252 members. The General Meeting approved the annual accounts for the year that ended 31 December 2023, discharged the former Board of Directors and appointed a new Board.
According to the cooperative’s statutes, the Board of Directors must be composed of :
- at least two and a maximum of three guaranteeing co-operators (category A), including at least one administrator presented by the ASBL Nova ;
- at least one and no more than two supporting co-operators (category B);
- at least one and no more than two investor co-operators (category C);
- at least one and no more than two Sponsor Investors (category D);
- the General Meeting may also appoint a maximum of two administrators, who may be natural persons or legal entities, associates or not, provided that they have been selected for their skills and support for the project. (co-opted)
As a result, the new Board is made up of three guaranteeing co-operators (category A), including one administrator presented by ASBL Nova; two supporting co-operators (category B); one investor co-operator (category C), one sponsor investor co-operator (category D). The General Assembly also co-opted two individuals selected for their skills and support to the project. The new Supernova Board of Directors met for the first time on October 21st 2024.
